Revisit your first cell phone at this online museum

Hyderabad: From bulky Nokia phones to Ericson fancy button cell phones and even Motorola flip phones, our childhood was filled with mobile phones of many different types and shapes. While the time is right for lightweight touchscreen smartphones, the nostalgia for button phones that were heavyweight champions can never go away.

What if we told you that there is one place where you can see all kinds of old cell phones from 1984 onwards – almost 2,000 of them. Yes, you heard right! The Mobile Phone Museum, founded by industry veterans Ben Wood and Matt Chatterley, is a website dedicated to 2,000 phones with their history and high-resolution photos.

According to a metro report website, the museum began as Wood’s personal collection about 25 years ago and now has over 2,100 devices. The museum has signed the mobile operator Vodafone as a five-year sponsor.

“It all started as a passionate project over 25 years ago, so it’s extremely exciting to work with Vodafone to launch the museum and to see so many industry veterans and other friendly faces at the exhibit . None of this would have been possible without the generosity and extraordinary efforts of a handful of enthusiastic volunteers, donors and sponsors, so I would like to sincerely thank them for their contributions, ”Wood said in the report.
