Ag-Venture stand-alone farm tours planned in southeast Wood County – BG Independent News

The Wood County Economic Development Commission and the Woodland Soil and Water Conservation District are partnering with local and county organizations and businesses to host the 2022 Wood County Ag-Venture Self-Governing Farm Tour Saturday, September 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

People are invited to travel at their own pace and visit the 617 square mile southeast section of Wood County to learn about the history and meet the local farm families and agricultural businesses that make it happen.

The event is free and open to the public.

Agriculture in Wood County is a major economic driver, but many Wood County residents are unaware of the produce grown in their backyards. From eggs to Oreos, Wood County producers are the primary makers of the food we eat and the fuel we use to get around.

Ag-Venture stops include: Benschoter Hay & Straw, 7298 Cloverdale Road, Cygnet; Buckeye Seafood Company, 6094 Oil Center Road, Bloomdale; Harrison Farm and Truck and Body, 11100 Wayne Road, Wayne; Weber Ranch, 4965 Defiance Pike, Wayne; and Wood County Museum, 13660 County Home Road, Bowling Green.
